Volyn oblast: Newspaper's editor won a court against the district council

Kivertsi district court in Volyn oblast recognised actions of Kivertsi District Council as illegal, regarding the former acting editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Vilnym shliakhom" Mariya Hitko. The court compeled to reinstate Hitko in position and to pay her 33 thousand UAH of compensation. The court ruled decision on March 15, after considering Hitko complaint on legality of her dismissal by the district council. Mariya Hitko announced on her Facebook page, said "Media Detector."

"Today, March 15, constituted a hearing on Mariya Hitko appeal to Kivertsi District Council and Mykhailenko L.P.. The court uphold the claim in part. The decision on the Hitko dismissal and appointment of Mykhailenko as an acting editor-in-chief of "Vilnym shliakhom" rule as illegal,"- Hitko wrote.
