Vinnytsia city court sentenced to 3 years of restriction of liberty

Vinnytsia city court sentenced to 3 years of restriction of liberty the passenger of the car “КІА Сerato”, who in May of 2016 assaulted the journalist of newspaper RIA Vitaliy Pavlovskyi, hitting him multiple times. The decision was taken by the court on October 31, the local Vinnytsia newspaper “20 khvylyn” reported. As the newspaper reminded, the incident took place when Vitaliy Pavlovskyi, based on his assignment, observed the work of the patrol police of Vinnytsia. When the police officers stopped a drunk driver, the journalist was video recording it, and the passenger of the car attacked the journalist, punching his face and chest two times. This offence was identified by the court based on the article of the Criminal Code  345-1, part 2 ("Threat or violence against journalist"). The sentenced man has 30 days to file an appeal contesting the sentence.
