Bohdan Buday, journalist with the Vinnytsia-based news outlet Vezha turned officer in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has been killed in action, Vezha reports, citing the serviceman’s family.

He died on 26 September 2025 in the area where he was performing his duties.

Bohdan hailed from Kryvyi Rih, but had lived and worked in Vinnytsia for a long time, one of his jobs being a journalist with Vezha. The news outlet says that Bohdan was known among their staff as a hard-working, persistent, professional, humane, and responsibile man.

Bohdan was drafted in September 2023. He most recently served in the UAF mechanized brigade No. 144. He was a liaison officer and later served as a CIMIC group officer.

Bohdan was buried in Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk oblast) on 4 October.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, Bohdan Buday is the 113th media worker to die in the course of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
