Oleksandr Tsakhniv, a journalist at the "Vchasno" news agency, has been killed in battle on the Bakhmut axis. This is reported on the news agency's website.

Oleksandr Tsakhniv, 37, was from the mining town of Selidove, Donetsk oblast. Before becoming a journalist, he was a coordinator in the "Strong Communities" movement, organizing public occasions and initiatives, cultural events; he also worked to develop the Ukrainian East.

At "Vchasno", Oleksandr covered corruption in Donetsk municipalities, conducted anti-corruption investigations.

"With him there was always something to talk about: from new movies to philosophical theories. He was a bright person with a broad outlook and sharp sense of virtue. He was a true patriot of our country, not just in words, but in deeds, because he did his best to make his homeland and our society better... This is a huge loss for all of us," his colleagues say, sharing their memories of Oleksandr.
