Ukrainian mass media published a fake about Tykhanovska

On August 13, several Ukrainian media outlets published information that opposition candidate for Belarus Presidency Svitlana Tykhanovska gave the Belarussian KGB statement against the members of her HQ, MediaSapiens reports.

This news was published by UNIAN, “Ukrainska pravda”, NV, Gazeta.ua, and others. The fake was noticed by the journalist of the “Voice of America” Ostap Yarysh.

The journalist noticed that Ukrainian mass media give as their source an anonymous Telegram channel “Yellow leaks”. It has about 10 subscribers and publishes information beneficial for the authorities of Belarus. It calls protesters “rioters” and “instigators”.
