Ukrainian journalist in Melitopol district sides with the occupiers
In Yakymivka, Melitopol district (occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast), journalist and photographer Lyudmila Shklyaruk volunteered to work with the occupiers. She promotes the Russian narratives and runs a local Telegram channel, reports RIA Melitopol.
Shklyaruk worked as a journalist, photographer, and editor at the local newspaper Slovo Trudivnyka. After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, she sided with the occupiers and now runs the propaganda Telegram channel "Typova Yakymivka".
"When the ruscists arrived, she started telling fairytales about the "Ukrainian Nazis" and "Bandera child-eaters." This is all the more sad if you know that according to locals, before the war she used to "joyfully write articles about Ukrainian holidays, running around with a Ukrainian flag. Lyudmila also considers the missile strikes on cities to be justified. And even cheers for them," the publication notes.
Shklyaruk also participates in various flashmobs. For example, in September 2022, she offered all locals who are loyal to the ruscists to take a photo with a tricolor or a Russian soldier and post it on social media. She herself took two photos – both with the Russian-appointed then head of Yakimivka, Maksym Zubarev, and with Russian soldiers.
As reported by IMI, Yuliya Vachenkova, a former host at Berdyansk TV, has been cooperating with the Russian occupiers since June 2022, filming propaganda reports.
