Ukrainian companies report crashes due to a global IT outage
The Ukrainian companies Nova Post, Sense Bank, and Vodafone reported a crash in their work.
"Nova Post" reported a technical failure in their customer service system triggered by software updates.
As of now, the work of all client systems and services has been restored, the company says.
Sense Bank, which also reported glitches, says that their systems had been restored.
"The technical difficulties we encountered this morning have been successfully overcome. All digital services and functions are working as usual again," the company notes.
They assured that:
- all money and data are completely safe;
- the crash is not related to a DDoS attack or other hostile activity;
- the incident was caused by a global IT outage related to the interaction between the cybersecurity software Crowdstrike and Windows.
Vodafone says that on the morning of July 19, some of their subscribers reported issues with the operator's services in all oblasts of Ukraine, which lasted an hour.
"The company's technicians quickly responded to the situation, and starting 9:20 all the basic services are gradually being restored. The glitch was caused by a global IT systems failure that affected the infrastructure of many companies around the world," the company reported.
As Radio Liberty notes, one of the largest TV news channels in Britain, Sky News, is unable to broadcast live, according to the board chairman.
US companies such as American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Airlines also report technical failures. The Berlin airport announced a delay in flight check-in due to a malfunction.
