Ukraine has moved up six spots in the Global Gender Gap Index to 59th over the past year, as Ukrinform reported.

According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2020, Iceland again heads the index, followed by Norway.

Finland, which was fourth last year, is ranked third.

It is noted that such countries as Nicaragua and Rwanda are listed in top ten.

Among Ukrainian neighbors, Moldova is ranked 23rd, Belarus is 29th, Poland is 40th, Georgia is 74th, and Russia is 81st.

Since 2006 the Global Gender Gap Index has been measuring the extent of gender-based gaps among four key dimensions (Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment) and tracking progress towards closing these gaps over time.
