Two TUT.BY journalists remanded in custody
The cases of journalists with TUT.BY Oleksiy Sudnikov and Nadiya Kalinina were sent to the Zhovtnevy District District Department of Internal Affairs (RUVS) for for follow-up revision, as TUT.BY reported.
Journalists are remanded in custody, the police can detain them for up to 72 hours.
It was expected that their case would be considered by the court today, but the assistant judge said that the case was sent to the head of the Zhovtnevy District Department of Internal Affairs for follow-up revision.
As IMI reported, in Minsk on September 2, the trial was to take place over the journalists who had been detained on the eve,as they were covering a student protest. They will be tried for participating in an unauthorized action.
On September 1, security forces detained several journalists covering a student protest in Minsk.
In particular, TUT.BY journalists Nadezhda Kalinina and Oleksiy Sudnikov, BelaPAN photojournalist Andriy Shavlyuga and freelance journalist Vasyl Syamashko, Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus journalists: photographer Sviatoslav Zorky, cameraman Mykyta Nedoverkovych and cameraman Mykyla Nedoverkova were detained.
