In the case of murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet, the investigators do not have any suspects that can be put on trial. This was reported by the advisor of the Minister of Internal Affairs and MP Anton Herashchenko in the program of TV channel “112 Ukraina”, 112.ua reports.
“In Sheremet case, the investigators, unfortunately, do not have any suspects yet who could be put on trial with surety now. Ukraine is the member of the Convention on protection of human rights, and all sentences of our courts can be contested in the European Human Rights Court. So if we put someone on trial in two weeks, this person will be able to contest the sentence in the European Human Rights Court due to violations in the procedure”, Herashchenko said.
As IMI reported before, on July 24, 2017, the Chief Department of Investigations of the National Police classified all court judgments in the case of murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet.
On September, the 22 Chief Department of Investigations of the National Police stated that they made all court judgments in the case of Sheremet murder classified to protect the lives of people “who participate in the criminal trial of law”.
