Telecom providers come under fire in Kherson oblast – Fedorov
Employees of a telecom provider came under Russian fire in Kherson oblast. At the same time, they managed to rescue a wounded woman.
This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, on his Telegram channel.
According to him, on May 8, Russian terrorists used fighter jets to shell Ukraine's south. The local provider's team was restoring the connection in Stanislav.
"The shelling damaged the cars of civilians and the telecom workers. Fortunately, the provider's team had taken a first aid class back in winter. That is why they didn't panic and quickly provided first aid to a wounded woman," Fedorov said.
As IMI reported, on April 26, the Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that their correspondent Corrado Zunino had been wounded in a Russian attack. At the time of the attack, he was with the fixer Bohdan Bitik, who was killed.
According to IMI's sources in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Bitik had no bulletproof vest and was wearing only a vest with a "Press" badge. The Italian correspondent, however, was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Law enforcers have started a pre-trial investigation into the wounding of Corrado Zunino, a reporter with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. A case for violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been opened.
According to the investigation, on April 26, Russian troops shelled the area of the Antonivsky Bridge near Kherson, killing a civilian. A foreign correspondent who was working on a report about the life in the city, received a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
