Türkiye indefinitely bans journalist Osman Pashaev from entering the country
Türkiye indefinitely banned journalist, head uasouth.media Osman Pashaev from entering the country.
He reported this on Facebook.
"It was bound to happen sooner or later. Türkiye banned me from entering the country indefinitely. No explanation. I don't know what codes pop up in the security system. There are no formal complaints against me. My Turkish criminal record papers are faultless. What could be the reason: my coverage of the events in Gezi Park in 2013, or my reports on the 2016 putsch attempt, or maybe my attentive filming of the trade in Ukrainian grain stolen by the Russians in 2022 – I don't know," wrote Osman Pashaev.
In a comment to IMI, he confirmed that he still does not know the reason for the entry ban. He explained that in Türkiye an entry ban can commonly last from one month to five years, but he is not aware of other cases of indefinite bans.
