The online news outlet Svidomi announced they were suspending operations. This was announced by the founder Anastasia Bakulina on the media outlet’s website on March 2.
According to Anastasia, this decision was not easy for her.
“But the last six months have been very exhausting, and our funding situation has not improved over the last two months. So now we had to take this step: to put our work on pause,” she noted.
Still, Anastasia hopes that the media outlet will find the resources to continue “and come back to you with new ideas and strength.”
She thanked the team, subscribers, donors, businesses, and organizations.
“You all have become a backbone for our team in difficult times. We are not saying goodbye, because we hope that we will be able to come back to you,” Svidomi founder said.
Svidomi reported on important socio-political, historical and cultural topics. The media outlet covered the Russian-Ukrainian war, published reports, visiting more than 20 cities in the south and east of Ukraine. In April 2023, thanks to cooperation with Illya Poludyonnyi, it was the first to release an investigation about Spartak Subbota, which was viewed by over 420 thousand people.
