Soldier, poet Maksym Kryvtsov killed in action
Poet and UAF soldier Maksym Kryvtsov has been killed in action, his mother Nadia Kryvtsova announced, quoting lines from his poem.
"My dearest son will sprout as violets," Ms. Nadia wrote.
Maksym Kryvtsov took part in the Revolution of Dignity and enlisted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a volunteer in 2014.
Later, he worked at the Center for Rehabilitation and Readaptation of ATO and JFO participants and at the Veteran Hub. Following the Russian full-scale invasion of 2022 he went back to the front line.
In late 2023, he published his poem collection "Poems From The Arrowslit".
PEN Ukraine has called the collection one of the best books of Ukrainian poetry in 2023.
Maksym's poems were also included in the poetry collections "Love Book 2.0. Love and War" and "Among Sirens. The War's New Poems", which were published in 2023.
