Soldier, "Kunsht" and "Commons" columnist Yevheniy Osievsky killed in action
Soldier, journalist, columnist for the popular science magazine "Kunsht" and the social criticism magazing "Commons", Yevheniy Osievsky from Kropyvnytsky was killed in a battle near Bakhmut on May 22.
This was reported by History, Business Education and Law Faculty of the V. Vynnychenko Central Ukraine State University, where Yevheniy studied.
"Zhenya majored in political science. After receiving a bachelor's degree, he went to the capital and entered the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. In Kyiv, Yevhen became a columnist for several successful projects. In 2022, he went to the frontline to defend Ukraine," the post reads.
Yevheniy's friend, Yaroslav Kovalchuk, said that the wake for the soldier will be held this week in Kropyvnytsky. The exact date will be announced in a few days. Yevheniy is survived by his mother.
"On May 22, one of my closest people died near Bakhmut. A faithful companion and the best person for discussing movies, comics and books in general. No words can express the emptiness this leaves in my heart. Zhenya, thank you for all the conversations and friendly embraces," Yaroslav Kovalchuk wrote.
According to IMI, Yevheniy Osievsky is the 60th media person to die as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
