SBU detains in Dnipropetrovsk region two administrators of separatist groups in social networks

SBU detained in Dnipropetrovsk region the residents of Kryvyi Rih and Kamyanskyi, conducting active anti-Ukrainian propaganda in social networks.

52-years old woman and 45-years old man since 2014 have been active participants of anti-Ukrainian groups in the Internet, and in 2016 they have been recruited by the RF special services representatives.

Executing the tasks of their supervisors, offenders established and maintained 12 groups in social networks, where they disseminated specially prepared propaganda materials, aiming at discrediting of state power in Ukraine, incitement of interethnic hostility and called for entering of south-eastern regions of Ukraine into the composition of Russia.

The terrorists’ associates were also tasked to collect data on disposition of armed formations and information on the law-enforcement bodies of Ukraine officials. During searches the special service operatives seized from offenders computer equipment with evidence of illegal activities.

The criminal proceeding under p.1 Article 110 of the Criminal code of Ukraine was initiated.

The investigations are under way.
