Russians target Vivat printing house in Kharkiv; casualties reported
On May 23, Russian troops targeted the publishing house Vivat in Kharkiv, killing and wounding multiple people. This was reported by the representative of the Institute of Mass Information in Kharkiv oblast.
Six civilians were killed and 16 were injured in the attack. The building was struck by two S-300 missiles at 10:30 a.m., said Oleh Synehubov, chair of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration.
A total of about 10 explosions went off across the city, and Russian troops attacked the Kharkiv transport infrastructure as well.
The rescue operation is underway on the ground.
According to Oleksandr Filchakov, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office, five of the six victims were at their workplace at the moment of the strike. These were three women and two men, reports Suspilne Kharkiv.
Filchakov noted that over 50 employees were at the printing house at the moment the two missiles hit it.
The head of the Kharkiv OMA stresses that the strike targeted a civilian object. The first blow hit the workshop, killing the 6 people who were inside.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, a large fire broke out following the missile strikes. All victims worked at the printing house.
In total, nine strikes were recorded in the Osnovyanskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of Kharkiv.
