The Russian occupiers are moving some political prisoners from Crimea to an unofficial detention center in Chonhar village, Kherson oblast.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, reports this, citing the Crimean Human Rights Group.

He notes that, some political prisoners from the Simferopol PTDC No. 2 have already been transferred there. People from Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts who were detained for political reasons are also kept there.

Namely, the new pre-trial detention center holds about 10 detainees suspected of participating in the Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Çelebicihan. Currently, 181 people have been unlawfully detained in Crimea and Russia.

"Detaining people in this way is illegal! This is a violation of human rights and freedoms on the part of the occupying administration. All those who have been unlawfully arrested and kept in prison on falsified charges must be released," the Commissioner said.

As IMI reported, 98 attacks and threats against journalists and bloggers were recorded in the occupied Crimea over the year, accorsing to the ZMINA Human Rights Center.

15 journalists from Crimea are in Russian detention facilities, including the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Nariman Celal (Celalov by the documents).
