Russian propaganda is spreading fake news about Ukrainian air defense shelling a residential house in Kyiv oblast – CCD
Pro-Russian Telegram channels are shift the blame for the shelling of a high-rise building in Kyiv oblast onto the UAF, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security Council reports.
As noted by the CCD, propagandists claim that the missile which hit the residential building caused less damage than expected, therefore it was a "weaker", Western-style missile, which means it must have been Ukrainian air defense at work.
"In fact, the residential building was hit by fragments of a shot down Russian missile, which is why the damage was minimal. This was confirmed by the head of the Kyiv RMA, Ruslan Kravchenko. The enemy is using such fakes to try and whitewash their own crimes and discredit the Ukrainian military," the CCD stresses.
As reported by the head of the Kyiv oblast police, Andriy Nebytov, a 13-year-old girl was injured by the falling fragments of a Russian rocket on April 28, 2023.
