russia to train specialists for countering "colour revolutions"

The Faculty of Political Science of moscow State University has opened the intake of students for a Master's program of training specialists "in the field of countering the technologies of modern information, hybrid, trade wars and color revolutions."

This was announced on the faculty's website, the russian service of Radio Liberty reports.

The purpose of the "Information and Hybrid Wars" program is to provide training of specialists who can to develop, plan, and implement operations to counter information, hybrid, trade wars and color revolutions of the hybrid type, both independently and as part of a team.

The mandatory courses in the curriculum are called "psychology of extreme states," "neuro-linguistic programming and other techniques of effective communication in politics," "new information operations practice in russian-American relations," "specifics of countering modern color revolution technologies," "analytical support of special military and police operations," as well as "special propaganda and countering fakes in the conditions of special military and police operations." There is no definition of "color revolutions" and "hybrid wars" in the description.

Political scientist Andrey Manoilo, the author of a doctoral dissertation on the subject "The role of cultural and civilizational models and technologies of informational and psychological influence in the resolution of international conflicts" and the monograph "Information warfare as a tool of external aggression and territorial expansion: a study guide," was appointed curator of the program.
