Volodymyr Siniychuk, serviceman and Ridnyi Kray photojournalist (Velyka Bahachka village, Poltava oblast), was killed in action in Donetsk oblast on 4 January 2026, reports the Velyka Bahachka village council.
Volodymyr was born in Velyka Bahachka on 24 October 1973. He studied at a local school and later the Luhansk Pedagogical Institute. After graduation he worked as a teacher at the Semenivka school.

“But most of us know Volodymyr Oleksandrovych as a photojournalist for the local newspaper Ridnyi Kray, where he worked for a long time,” said the Velyka Bahachka village council.
He was drafted for the army on 20 December 2022, following the full-scale invasion.
Volodymyr is survived by his elderly parents, two daughters, a granddaughter, a sister, and other relatives.
He was buried on 15 January.
According to the Institute of Mass Information, Volodymyr Siniychuk is the 124th media worker to die in the course of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
