Oliynyk wants to sue newspaper "Pravdoshukach" for 100 thousand hryvnias again

06.02.2015, 20:30

The ex-MP from the Party of Regions Volodymyr Oliynyk again demanded compensation of moral damages in amount of 100 thousand hryvnias from the editorial office of the newspaper “Pravdoshukach”. This information comes from the Independent Media Trade Union.

Oliynyk's claim is about the article by Aliona Paliy "Dictatorship laws as source of social turmoil in Ukraine". Being the head of the Ballot Counting Committee of the Parliament,  Oliynyk claims that the connection between the laws as of 01.16.2014 (so-called "Dictatorship laws") and the clashes of protestors with police are baseless, and thus the reputation of Volodymyr Oliynyk suffered without any good reason. As a compensation, he demanded from the newspaper 100 thousand hryvnias in September of 2014. Later he abandoned his demands, yet now again wants this amount of compensation.

the Independent Media Trade Union is disturbed by the cynical behavior of people's deputy Volodymyr Oliynyk, and addressed General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine with a demand to finish investigation of faking the vote during approval of "dictatorship laws" as of January 16, 2014.
