National council warned group "112 Ukraina" for absence of information about authors

12.10.2017, 09:01
On October 5, the National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting warned the sattelite channel “112 Ukraina” and five regional companies that re-broadcast it digitally. Also, five regional companies from the group “112 Ukraina” were denied for the twenty-sixth time in changing their program concepts to the concept of satellite channel “112 Ukraina”, “Detector media” reports. LLC “TRC “112-TV”, the legal entity of the satellite channel “112 Ukraina” – was warned for absence in the programs “Evening prime” and “Studio 112 live” of data about name of author of authors, name and address of the program's producer (violation of part 5, article 6 of the Law “On Television and radio broadcasting”). Five nominally local broadcasters that broadcast with logo "112 Ukraina" were also warned for non-compliance with program concept and logo (in fact they just broadcast the content of the satellite channel "112 Ukraina". Their representatives did not appear for the session of the National Council, and wrote back that they do not consider their course of actions a violation. However, if current situation is legalized, instead of 130 nominally local broadcasters we will have one more national digital broadcaster, and the 130 entities who won local contests for broadcasting will be left without official digital licenses. The back-and-forth debate between the regulator and the "local" broadcasters that includes monetary penalties (that were not paid), warnings and responses lasts since 2015.
