National Council fined Akhmetov channel for anti-Ukrainian propaganda

06.04.2017, 15:20

National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting fined channel "MTV" (Ltd. "TRO" Mariupol Television") in the amount of 25% of the license fee - 84 thousand UAH for broadcasting Russian program, with calls for unleashing aggressive war or a promotion and/or incitement of national, racial or religious hatred. Member of the National Council member Sergei Kostynskyy reported it on his Facebook page.

"Sanction applied because of TV program "Territoriya zabluzhdeniy" (territory of deception) broadcast. The program is produced by Russian TV channel "REN TV". The program showed sided interpretation of Ukrainian history, which is used by the aggressor country to justify aggression against Ukraine, besides the program obtrudes opinion that Ukraine fails as an Independent state and its inability to break relations with Russia," - Kostynskyy said.
