The Institute of Mass Information’s regional hub Mediabaza Khmelnytskyi hosted an outdoor yoga session on 25 July. Ten media workers joined the morning class on the bank of the Southern Buh.

The hour-long session was led by yoga instructor Tetiana Pidhirniak and primarily focused on relaxing the neck and back muscles after long hours of desk work. The participants also did breathing exercises.

During the session, the instructor explained the technique for each exercise and the safety guidelines so that participants could perform them in a way that suited their individual capabilities and physical state.
“Exactly what you need after a packed working week: to breathe out, recharge, release tension, and just be in the moment. Thank you for the wonderful atmosphere and for taking care of media workers,” said Roksolana Ivanova, professor at the International and European Law Department at Leonid Yuzkov University of Management and Law (Khmelnytskyi).

Despite an unfavourable weather forecast, the morning was sunny, so the session went ahead outdoors as planned.
“I’m so grateful to my colleagues for this opportunity. Somehow work, everyday life, and the kids always come first, and there’s never any room in the schedule to take some time for myself. But here everything was perfect: the people, the exercise, the location, such a lovely instructor, and the chance to meet new people. This isn’t the first Mediabaza event I’ve joined. And, honestly, you could join just for the atmosphere alone. I’ll keep an eye out for future announcements,” shared Iryna Kreminska, communications manager and SMM at the news website ZHAR.INFO.

After the yoga session, the participants continued the get-together over coffee and had the chance to chat with colleagues in a casual setting.

“Constant desk work is a serious challenge for your health. That’s why you need regular workout to take care of your spine. And these exercises don’t have to be complicated. That’s exactly what we tried to show media workers at this session,” summed up Olha Zahoruiko, head of Mediabaza Khmelnytskyi.
