Maye Sens announces a two day silence to show the information space without independent media
The civil society organization Maye Sens will hold a 48-hour silence campaign starting February 11: it will stop releasing content to show what the information space would look like without independent media, as reported on the NGO's website.
“We are not gone forever, but this symbolic gesture is intended to emphasize: in this difficult time, without the support from society, businesses and partners, independent media may cease to exist,” the post says.

The organization, which works to develop independent journalism, said that the media perform an extremely important social function.
“We keep you informed of what is happening in the city, tell you about important initiatives and issues in the community. However, this work takes resources. We work honestly and transparently: we do not post jeansa, do not publish unlabelled or covert advertising, do not promote gambling, are not owned by politicians or oligarchs,” the organization notes.
The NGO Maye Sens works to develop independent journalism and establish partnership relations in communities. The organization's media department includes two independent websites operating in the east and west of Ukraine: 6262.com.ua (Slovyansk) and 0372.ua (Chernivtsi).
Earlier, the media of Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Luhansk, and Volyn oblasts explained what danger the suspension of US grants poses to them.
US President Donald Trump has suspended funding for all projects by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for 90 days to review them and determine whether they align with his political goals. In Ukraine, USAID was supporting hundreds of various media projects.
On January 28, the Media Movement urged citizens and businesses to support independent journalism.
