25.03.2025, 17:59

The Kryvyi Rih police have opened a case over bodily harm inflicted to a representative of an online media outlet. A perpetrator of the attack has been identified. The victim identified as the media outlet's lawyer, the Dnipropetrovska Oblast National Police HQ reports on their website.

As the police learned, on March 24, at about 13:40, several men previously unknown to one another had a conflict which resulted in one of them beating another.

“During the interview, the victim introduced himself as a lawyer for an online news outlet. According to the results of the examination, doctors diagnosed him with moderate injuries,” the police said.

A case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 122 (intended bodily injury of medium gravity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

A suspicion notice will be issued to the attacker shortly. A pre-trial investigation is underway.

The news outlet "Svoyi. Kryvyi Rih" reported on March 24 that a member of their team had been beaten.

The media outlet's founder Oleksiy Taymurzin said in the comment to the IMI that he believes the attack on their volunteering special correspondent Serhiy was linked to the news outlet's reporting, namely the news story "Garage Morgue". Serhiy’s nose and ribs were broken and he suffered a concussion.

The media outlet's team thanked the police on Telegram for their "prompt response and solving the crime."
