Kremlin attempts to limit the work of Krym.Realii in RF before the presidential elections - Oksana Romaniuk

13.10.2017, 09:31
Russian authorities imposes the status of foreign agents on Radio Liberty to limit the freedom of press before the presidential elections. Executive director of NGO "Institute of Mass Information" said this in the air of Radio Krym.Realii . “An interesting thing is that the project Krym.Realii and others work for quite a long time, but for some time the authorities started to make objections only now. Possibly, before the elections they just sweep the information space from the unwanted mass media. Kremlin does not like very much when Radio Liberty and others broadcast stories about persecution of journalists and political repressions, and they cannot influence their editorial offices. This is from where such intentions stem”, she pointed out. On October 9, the Ministry of Justice of Russia warned Radio Liberty and its projects – channel “Nastoyashchee Vremya” and website “Idel.Realii”, that their work in Russian Federation can be limited, because “their activities can be identified as activities of a foreign agent”.
