Judge who banned National Council from considering the case of "Radio Vesti" will be fired

19.10.2017, 14:18
On October 18, the third disciplinary chamber of the Higher Justice Council decided to impose disciplinary measure in form of dismissal from the position of judge of Frankivskyi district court of Lviv city on Vasyl Masendych – the author of the judgment banning the National council from considering the issue of extending the license of “Radio Vesti” (LLC “TRC “Dyvosvit”). Vice head of the National Council for Radio and TV broadcasting Uliana Feshchuk reported informed “Detector media” about this. The decision was approved by the disciplinary chamber of the Higher Council of Justice based on the results of the disciplinary case opened due to complaints of the National Council and of the MP Serhiy Vysotskyi. Head of the National Council Yuriy Artemenko specified in his Facebook entry that judge Masendych is now removed from his duties until the High Council of Justice approves the decision on his dismissal (or withdraws it). Serhiy Vysotskyi also informed about the Council's decision. “My own experience shows that the new institutions are working. Just now, the High Council of Justice decided to fire the judge Masendych, who illegally defended the Kremlin radio "Vesti", by banning the National Council to consider its licensing issues. Let it be the lesson for all judges who decided to work for Russia!”, he wrote in his Facebook entry.
