Journalist of the journalist investigations program “Skhemy” (joint project of Radio Liberty and TV channel “UA:First”), Mykhailo Tkach, claims that the activities of journalists were obstructed by the security guards of Viktor Medvedchuk. The incident took place in the evening of November 7 near the VIP terminal of the airport “Kyiv”, Radio Liberty reports.
“People who constantly work as security for arrivals and departures of Viktor Medvedchuk, masked people, were obstructing our lawful journalist activities. They were hitting us with their elbows, pushed us, tripped us, twice knocked our camera from the camera operator's hands. Our car with a recording system was blocked to obstruct taking footage of arrival of Viktor Medvedchuk's airplane from Russia and him exiting the terminal”, the journalist wrote in his Facebook entry.
Chief editor of the program “Skhemy”, Natalka Sedletska, reported that the filming crew of the program continued to perform their duties, in spite of the obstructions.
“Our journalists and camera operators continued to do their jobs in spite of impudent and planned counteraction to their journalist activities. In the last weeks, the security guards of Viktor Medvedchuk regularly were inventing new methods to obstruct video recording”, Sedletska informed.
“Obstruction and violent attack against the filming crew of “Skhemy” was conducted by the security guards of Viktor Medvedchuk. This took place near the VIP terminal of the airport in Zhuliany (Kyiv). Medvedchuk uses this airport for charter flights, on exclusive conditions, to Russia and back, in spite of ban of direct air travels”, she added.
Currently, there is no confirmation or denial of these words from other sources, the media outlet points out.
Vuiktor Medvedchuk, a businessman, leader of a pro-Russian organization “Ukrainian choice”, and godfather of Vladimir Putin's child, is also a representative of Ukraine in humanitarian Trilateral Subgroup in Minsk, where he is in charge, in particular, of releasing the hostages.
