Journalist from Lviv in response to his information request was billed for almost 1.5 thousand hryvnias.

Regional branch of State Property Fund of Ukraine for Lvivska, Zakarpatska and Volynska oblasts, in response information request filed by Viktor Kornienko sent him a bill “to pay expenses for copying or printing documents” in amount of UAH 1483.82, Halinfo reports.

In his request, the journalist asked the institution to provide him some information in electronic form (via e-mail).

According to Viktor Kornienko, he requested public information from the regional branch of the State Property Fund as a part of his journalist investigation about the facts that can expose corruption in the tenders where entities that provide property evaluation were selected. The documents requested were copies of property evaluation reports. The journalist considers billing him in response for the request of public information a form of obstruction to his journalist activities. He plans to file a complaint to the law enforcement agencies about this case.
