The journalist of the online media outlet “Pocherk” Nazariy Vivcharyk addressed the Commissioner for Human Rights in Cherkaska oblast Lesya Valiayeva with a complaint about the Ministry of Culture that ignores his request about the estate of Engelgard, the media outlet’s website reports.
According to the published information, the journalist filed his request to the Ministry of Culture by e-mail on August 1. The Ministry notified that the request was received by the administrator on August 2 and was registered under the code "ЗМІ-590".
Yet after that, in spite of the journalist’s several reminders , the officials did not even tell him when to expect the response. The journalist was preparing a story about the Englelgard's estate in the village of Budyshche, in Zvenyhorodka region. This estate was supposed to be repaired, but in fact, the repairs were never finished and the building now slowly decays. The journalist asked the Ministry simple things like "was the Ministry overseeing the construction works? Is it aware that the works are now stalled? What was the amount of the estimate of the repairs and for what amount the works are already delivered? Who was in charge of the reconstruction?". The press service even responded once that the answer is already prepared, but then the boss took it back for "finalizing".
