The Kyiv City Enlistment Centre has reported they have detained an editing director for Inter TV who they say had been wanted for violating the law, the enlistment centre reported in a Facebook post, adding that the man in question was employed by LLC Telestudiya Sluzhba Informatsiyi.

The agency said that the man was subject to the draft and had no valid grounds for exemption on record at the time of detention.

They added that neither the man nor his employer had arranged draft exemption or submitted deferment paperwork on time despite him working for a media outlet.

The agency stressed that enlistment office servicemembers and police officers had taken no unlawful action during the detention.

Meanwhile, several Telegram channels, such as Nexta, shared video footage of the incident taken near the Inter TV office in Kyiv. The clip shows a dispute between people in military uniform, police officers, and newsroom staff near the entrance to the building. One female employee can be heard saying she would document the persons involved and report the incident on air.

Hromadske reported on 27 July that their journalist Yevheniy Shulhat had been detained by Kyiv police and escorted to an enlistment office. He was released from the enlistment center late that day and handed a summons to take a physical examination mandatory for potential conscripts.
