In Zaporizhzhya, TVi's story about a criminal kingpin was not aired

28.10.2013, 22:13

On October 21, in Zaporizhzhya during the broadcast of the Exclamation Mark TV program of the TVi channel, cable operators turned on cartoons instead. This is information from the TVi press service, with reference to information from the Facebook page of the Exclamation Mark anchor Artem Shevchenko.

The journalist claims that the cable TV operators were broadcasting cartoons at the time when Exclamation Mark was showing the story about Yevhen Anisimov, known in the local press as a «crime kingpin». On the day of its broadcast, the crime boss and his bodyguard were detained by the law enforcers, in Kyiv Airport «Boryspil».

As the 061.ua media outlet writes, subscribers of the «Volia» cable TV also confirmed that during the announced TVi story, the cartoon «Oggy and the Cockroaches» was on air.

In the comment for «Telekrytyka», the «Volia» press service claims that their network in Zaporizhzhya had no technical capability to change the broadcast: «This broadcast was too late at night: 10 p.m. and 2.00 a.m. At that time, we do not have any employees at the station to make any changes to the broadcast, even in theory». Also, the «Volia» press service emphasized that since the end of 2012 almost all their branches adopted the centralized broadcast control system.
