01.08.2017, 15:42
On July 18, in Zaliznychny rayon court of Simferopol, another session in the case of Crimean journalist Mykola Semena took place, Krym.Realii reports. In the last session, the defense called for interrogation of the defense witness, including the editor-in-chief of Krym.Realii Volodymyr Prytula. On December 7, 2016, Mykola Semena was accused of a crime under part 2 Article 280.1. of the Criminal Code of Russia “Public encouragement for actions aimed at violation of territorial integrity of the Russian Federation”. The Russian FSB claims that it was Mykola Semena who under a penname wrote a material for Krym.Realii under the title “Blockade ‒ necessary first step to liberation of Crimea”. The ex-prosecutor of the annexed Crimea, who accused Semena, said that Krym.Realii gave an opportunity to “justify acts of sabotage and extremism”. The 66-y.o. journalist is facing up to five years in prison.
