In Odesa, guards of commercial beach attacked journalists of First City Channel

On June 11, in Odesa unidentified men attacked the filming crew of the First City TV Channel  on the beach ‘Otrada’ when the crew  was filming an investigative story about commercial beaches. According to the TV channel’s website, on the territory of the beach that was enclosed with a fence in violation of the law on free access to the sea some athletic-looking men, with the assistance from the beach staff, attacked the journalists – the special correspondent Maria Kovaliova; they were obstructing her, offending, pushing, and hitting. Kovaliova’s crew mates tried to interfere but were beaten themselves, and the camera operator Serhiy Samoilov got pushed into the pool by the director of the cable way Yuriy Reznikov. Police officers on sight failed to respond.

The journalists filed a complaint with the police, nonetheless.
