In Mykolaiv, governor and deputies expelled journalist from council session, saying issues of conscription are classified

22.01.2015, 15:04

On January 21, the head of the press service of Mykolaiv oblast council state administration Svitlana Hurmaza, together with the Administration’s vice-head Oksana Yanishevska did not allow "Prestupnosti.NET" journalist Olena Melnikova and her cameraman into the session hall, where the head of the Administration was conducting a meeting with MPs elected in Mykolaivska oblast. The IMI regional correspondent informed us about this. Denial of access, according to them, was due to issues of conscription that would be discussed at the meeting.

Only a local communal mass media cameraman was invited for the meeting, and vice-governor Yanishevska used this as an argument for denial of access - "We have our own communal mass media to cover our activities" - she said. According to the journalist, it became known to her that conscription was not the only thing on the agenda - the deputies also adopted the budget of the oblast for 2015.
