In Lvivska oblast, journalists of “Zolochiv.net” faced obstruction at site of traffic accident
On May 4, in the town of Zolochiv, Lvivska oblast, the journalists of the online media outlet “Zolochiv.net” faced obstruction when they arrived to film the site of a traffic accident. This was reported on the media outlet’s website.
According to Zolochiv.net, around 8 p.m. a traffic accident happened on the crossing of Ternopilska and Chornovola Streets. A VAZ car hit a post with the street signs. The post landed in the middle of the road. The car also sustained some damage. When the Zolochiv.net correspondents arrived to the site to report on the accident they “were met with aggressive behavior of certain persons, who would forbid us from filming in a public space”.
An unknown woman at the site hit the journalist’s camera and damaged the lens. The people on the site threatened the journalists for trying to film.
The media outlet’s editorial office informed the ІМІ representative in Lvivska oblast that it was the website’s editor Yaroslav Danylenko, who faced obstruction in his attempt to film the site of the accident. The editorial office filed a complaint about the incident to the police.
