In Kyiv, ultra-right attacked the journalist who visited Docudays UA

29.03.2018, 15:20
On March 26 in Kyiv, four unidentified men attacked the person who attended the discussion on spreading of ultra-right movements, which was conducted during the festival Docudays UA, Illia Romanenko, who turned out a journalist working for media outlets 5.6.magazine and MiTETS, Human Rights Information center reports. As Romanenko told, the attack took place soon after the discussion. “They followed me cleanly, almost to the metro. They attacked me from behind, perpper-sparyed my face, stomped my kidneys, not saying anything. I shielded my head”, Romanenko told, and added that the incident took place near the metro station “Kontraktova square”. According to Romanenko, today only even having some public stance is enough to be beaten - you do not even have to be a political journalist or a critic. “ Being against is enough. In my case, being against violence and violation of human rights”, he commented.
