In Kyiv, channel ZIK was picketed because of broadcasting Portnov's interview

25.01.2018, 10:52
On January 24, about 30 people picketed offices of TV channel ZIK as a protest against interviewing and broadcasting the interview of the former vice head of Presidential Administration, andriy Portnov, LB.ua reports. The former official, who is now being wanted by Ukrainian authorities is now, as he says, a legal resident of Austria. On January 22, he was interviewed by the program "Hard with Vlashchenko", hosted by journalist Natalia Vlashchenko. TV channel ZIK belongs to businessman from Lviv, Petro Dyminskyi, who is suspected of causing lethal traffic accident, and left the territory of Ukraine. According to ZIK, the chief producer of the channel Natalia Vlashchenko considers the pressure against the channel a provocation. She complained about the threats, including threats by current Members of Parliament. As IMI reported before, on January 22, ZIK broadcasted, an interview of the channel producer  with the former vice-head of Presidential Administration of Viktor Yanukovych, Andriy Portnov. This very fact, the tone of the interview, and the fact that the broadcast was on the day when Serhiy Nigoyan and Mykhailo Zhyznevskyi were killed in 2014, was the factor that caused public outrage.
