In Kropyvnytskyi, representative of "Revizor" was forbidding journalist to record the process of show production

28.03.2018, 17:33
On March 27 in Kropyvnytskyi, representative of the program “Revizor” was forbidding the journalist of local media outlet “Kropyvnytskyi.ua” Dmytro Semeniuk to conduct photographing of how the program was produced. Dmytro Semeniuk reported this to IMI. According to him, he was troubled by the fact that he, as a citizen, was forbidden from taking photos in the public place, in the cafe where the program was being produced. He said that when he saw the team of the “Revizor”, he approached them and started photographing, but one of the representatives of the team started blocking his camera view. To the question why he is not allowed to photograph, "Revizor" representative said that this is a private project and intellectual property. Dmytro argued that he was in a public place and, according to the Constitution, he is free to collect information there. The response was that Semeniuk is not a journalist. He decided that there is no sense of showing his journalist ID, as photographin in a public place should not be something that requires a status of a journalist. As IMI reported before, there was an incident on June 12, 2017 in Vinnytsia, where security guard of program “Revizor” (New Channel) was obstructing the work of journalists of media outlet “Vezha” and forbid them to video record the program production in cafe “Pyruzhkova”.
