In Ivano-Frankivska oblast, journalist making photos of car accident was threatened

17.01.2015, 17:00

On January 16, in the town of Tysmenytsia, Ivano-Frankivska oblast, an unidentified man was threatening a journalist of the newspaper “Visti Prykarpattia” Yuri Palyvoda with problems with the Security Service of Ukraine because the journalist was making photos of a car accident. Palyvoda reported this to IMI himself.

The man told Palyvoda that he had no right to make those photos. Palyvoda explained that as a journalist he had a right to make photos in public areas, including car accidents, and asked the man to show his ID. The man showed an identification card from the Fund of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and told the journalist he would have problems with the Security Service of Ukraine.
