In Dnipropetrovska oblast, journalists of Russian TV channel "Zvezda" were detained. Ukraine handed them to military attache of Russian Embassy

16.06.2014, 17:07

Dnipropetrovsk oblast organization of the party "Right Sector" informs that on June 14 a group of journalists of the Russian TV channel “Zvezda” were detained near a checkpoint in Pokrovsky rayon. According to the ogranization’s statement, the group of journalists of the TV channel "Zvezda" (official TV channel of the Armed Forces of Russia) consisted of two Russian citizens, Yevhen Davydov and Mykyta Konashenkov, who were accompanied by two assistants from Donetska oblast.  These were the filming crew that during the last month, accredited with the terrorist organization, Donetsk People’s Republic, was filming their horrifying propaganda stories for Russians and Donbas dwellers about allegedly peaceful Republic’s towns as if bombed to rubble by the Ukrainian Army, ‘radicals’ from the National Guard and the Right Sector’s ‘hordes’. These journalists had on them the contacts with mercenaries and infiltrators from Russia. Moreover, the "Zvezda" journalists were covertly filming checkpoints of the Ukrainian Army and passing this data to Moscow and to the armed separatists. The detained were handed to the Security Service of Ukraine. Later, they were handed over to an assistant of the military attaché of the Russian Federation in the Embassy to Ukraine.
