In Dnipropetrovsk, journalist had a conflict over photos of displaced persons
On June 5, in Dnipropetrovsk a journalist of one of the all-Ukrainian newspapers had a conflict with a representative of the National Defense HQ, an NGO cooperating with Dnipropetrovsk Oblast State Administration, over photos of displaced persons. According the journalist, she was collecting materials for a story about internally displaced persons from the East of the country. She was talking to them and making photos of them at the regional National Defense HQ, an unidentified young man intervened and blocked her lens. They had a conflict. He turned out to be the HQ’s staff photographer.
The National Defense HQ informs that they ask all journalists to takes photos and record video only after coordination with the HQ press center as people at the HQ might not want to have the photos or videos of their faces been published out of fear for their safety.
