In Cherkaska oblast, members of election committee did not allow journalist attend committee session
On September 9 in Vatutino town, Cherkaska oblast, the journalist of «Tochka Opory» media outlet was not allowed to attend the election committee’s session. The committee members, in particular, the head of commission Mrs. Nina Klepach representing a local branch of the "Batkivshchyna" political party, refused to believe that the journalist ID was genuine (as it was without a photo), although the journalist was ready to show her his passport as an ID. Also, the committee members were putting his journalist status under question altogether, saying, as an example, that a journalist should have the relevant record in his official records of professional activities, and asked him to show a diploma certifying he has the relevant education.
According to the Ukrainian Law "On Local Elections", mass media representatives are supposed to have free access to sessions of election committees.
