IMI starts psychotherapy support group for media professionals. Enrolment until July 12
According to IMI research , 87% of journalists face online bullying in consequence of their professional activities. In this regard, the Institute of Mass Information is starting an online psychotherapeutic support group for media professionals, led by a specialist. The goal of the group will be to reduce the negative effects of cyberbullying and to provide a psychotherapeutic support.
In the space of three summer months, the group members will get systematic advice and practical tips to help them to mold resilience to cyberbullying. This is to help group members become more professional and happier in their work.
The main accent of the group work is to study problems and life experience of journalists facing cyberbullying.
The format of the group provides an opportunity to understand the impact of what is happening, will help to freely express their feelings, experiences and thoughts caused by online bullying.
? Topics the group will work on:
-The main range of challenges for journalists related to cyberbullying and how to respond to them;
-Stress and stress reactions and self-care under stress;
-Secondary trauma, fatigue from compassion;
-Ways of emotional regulation. Mindfulness;
-Inner useless mechanisms and behavior strategies;
-Development of healthy useful inner models and behavioral strategies;
-Self-empathy as a way of recovery;
-Self-criticism, its impact on various aspects of life, self-esteem and development of resilience ;
-Professional burnout as a consequence of cyberbullying. Ways of prevention and self-help;
The meeting will take place online twice a month and will last for two hours.
?Trainer is Olena Kupriya , cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist of the Center for Psychological Counseling "Space of Hope" Ukrainian Catholic University.
°The first meeting will take place on June 29 at 5:00 p.m.
°The second will take place on July 13 at 5:00 p.m.
The group is to be formed until July 12 inclusive. To become a participant, you must pre-register ? HERE . Later on, due to the safety of participants, the group will switch to closed regime of work.
The second enlistment to psychotherapeutic groups will take place in the fall of 2021. It will be announced later.
