IMI invites you to join the #ThankYouJournalists flashmob on this Journalist's Day
Today, June 6, Ukraine celebrates Journalist's Day.
This year, in the context of russia's full-scale invasion, journalists have a special responsibility to inform Ukrainians and the world community about war crimes committed by the russian army in Ukraine.
On this day, we want to remind everyone why freedom of speech is important. To remind of this through people's names.
Since February 24, eight media workers in Ukraine have been killed in the line of duty by the russians. They knew they were risking their lives, but they didn't quit.
Thousands of journalists continue to work today. They go to dangerous places, literally live in bulletproof vests, film under fire and bring the truth to people.
Today, write something about our colleagues and add the hashtag #ThankYouJournalists (#ДякуюЖурналістам). Post it on your social media of choice, let as many people as possible read your words.
The Institute of Mass Media says #ThankYouJournalists for being the embodiment of freedom of speech in Ukraine. Know that we are always by your side.
Help us be even more cool!
