Head of Rayon State Administration in Volyn bound his subordinates to obtain his consent for any comments for mass media

Head of Kamin-Kashyrska rayon state administration (Volynska oblast), Valeriy Dunaichuk, issued an assignment to obtain his consent on obligatory basis in case of providing any information to printed an online media outlets. He reported this himself in his Facebook entry, publishing a copy of the document, Konkurent informs. According to the assignment, the leaders of structural subdivisions of the Rayon State Administration must obtain the head's consent on “any information (interview, comments, publications, announcements, etc), provided to printed and electronic mass media, and also online media outlets”. The head of the Administration explained his actions by the fact that mass media often comment about "bad" authorities. “Governmental agencies, being guided in their activities by the principles of openness and transparency, must secure an effective communication with the public, to inform the latter about important issues of social, political and economic development of the state, of the oblast, and of the rayon in particular”, he wrote. Dunaichuk hopes that this measure will "make implementation of state information policy in the region more active", and provide to the public with a high-quality information product and services.
