Government classified data about half of tenders

06.03.2013, 03:06
In January and February of 2013, The Journal of Public Procurement weekly published data on tenders worth 66.41 billion USD. It is twice less than during the same period of the last year, when they published data about tender at 133.26 billion USD. This is stated in the study "Nashi Groshi" web site.

The sharp drop in the published data about tender occurred after the entry into force of the Law on withdrawal of state enterprises, which carry out purchases at their own expense, from the scope of PPL procurement. This law was designed by the government, adopted by the Parliament and finally signed by President Viktor Yanukovych in August 2012.

In 2013, a whole series of large companies, such as "Kyivmiskbud" (tenders at 3.26 billion USD. in 2012), "Darnitskiy Car Repair Plant" (3.37 billion.) and others, no longer publish data on their purchases.

On the whole, in 2012, the government’s weekly published data about purchases at 520.20 billions.

In February of this year, in Parliament, the opposition factions registered bill number 2207, which proposed to require public companies to report on all their purchases.
