Former owners of LLC TV and Radio Company “Radio-Era” announced that they will have to sell the company because the pressure of authorities. Former owners claim that the authorities continue systemic assault against freedom of press of the company. “The process of pressure against us had a very unexpected outcome - sale of the portfolio of shares to the investor with American background, which, from the standpoint of international legal and political practice, will be able to secure protection of the right for independent and professional journalism. The final decision was taken only then when we became completely assured that the new owners will preserve the main values and principles of our media outlet, namely: professional coverage of topics important for the public, absence of even a hint of censorship, pro-Ukrainian position, creative freedom, balance of opinions and social journalism”, the statement of TRC “Radio-Era” reads.
